CTA plans are under-way to install a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line on Ashland between 95th street and Irving Park road. This “El-train-like experience on wheels” is intended to run on a car-free lane in the center of the road. However, many are opposed to the idea of hindering a high-traffic four-lane street by turning it into a two-lane.
